The CX and CD series were originally intended as “general purpose” microphones. They could be used for dispatch and also for singing as I’ve seen these used in old bands from the 1940’s and 50’s. Today these are sought after as excellent harp mics for use with a harmonica due to their gritty High Z sound.  Pic # 2 is from an old Turner advertisement. These models today happen to make great harp mics due to their small size and east in which to cup in the hand. It should be noted however that while the mic is 100% complete…it no longer works and should be used for display, prop or repair purposes only.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      As seen in the pictures provided this “bullet” mic has a nice satin chrome finish showing typical lite wear in the form of tiny scratches and scuff marks and tiny nicks but free of any engravings or dents. The original black screen is in perfect condition but there are no dents in the front grill. The Turner badge is still present but barely legible. The riveted badge sits firmly in place. Both threads for the cable and stand are in perfect condition. Rarely do these mics still work and this is the case for this one as well. It still has the original crystal element as well. It sit’s firmly inside…nothing loose.  This Turner microphone originally came in 4 different variants. The base model BX and BD were both painted and utilized different elements (crystal & dynamic). The CX and CD were both satin chrome finish and the more expensive mics. There is always plenty of room for an upgrade element if needed. The mic is the size of a very large chicken egg and lite weight so it’s easy to hold. These are great for putting an old Shure Controlled magnetic element inside of. This would make a great harp mic if you plan on doing so otherwise you can display it with your other vintage mics. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE…USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.   As with all my vintage microphones for sale…   I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not…I have a no hassle return policy. The return shipping will be on you as I believe that’s fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition…period.
