This was a good quality “general purpose” Dynamic mic when manufactured 70 + years ago but many of these have worn out from age and use. This is one of them. This unit has been thoroughly tested and cleaned but the original signal is very weak and cannot be used as intended. It should be used for display, prop or repair purposes only.   Pic # 2 is from a 1940’s catalog I have showing the mics basic specs and price. As you can see there are a few small stains and chips in the original paint but otherwise this little guy is in very nice cosmetic condition. The silk screen is free of any holes or rips and the chrome is good to go! Joint mechanism works nicely and allows for a smooth sliding adjustment. The Astatic F-11 adapter is period to the mic and included. It comes with a short 1 foot cable and period Cannon male XLR end connector. The riveted Astatic badge shows it’s clearly a very early model and the badge itself is quite legible with very little wear.  The F-11 adapter is in very good overall condition. The chrome plating is free of any corrosion and the threading for the stand is perfect. The HZ-50 was a High impedance mic making a it a great general purpose or harp mic but again…the signal is very weak. Let the pictures be your guide please.  MICROPHONE DESK STAND IS PART OF THIS SALE… The older Atlas desk stand is from the 1950’s era and perfect for just about any older vintage microphone. The design shows that it’s clearly an early generation DS-7 retractable desk stand made in Brooklyn, NY. There is no discoloration on the grey paint but there is lite rust stains on the bottom. Total length is 12 inches high x 6 inches wide but can be lowered to 8 inches if needed. With the mic on top it’s appx 15 inches at it’s lowest height.  The upper chrome stem shows extremely lite wear. The bottom stem shows heavier wear in the form of small scratches and pitting and the painted Atlas logo is worn away. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. All 3 original rubber pads are still present and work great. The stand will accept just about any microphone with the exception of a few Astatic mics due to their unusual 3 pin attachment. All E.V, Shure and Turner mics will screw on however. This stand has the universal 5/8 thread. This is perfect for the old HZ-50 because of it’s wide, stable base and manufacture date (being 1950’s). This stand is an easy 7 on a scale of 10. As with all my vintage microphones for sale…   I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not…I have a no hassle return policy. The return shipping will be on you as I believe that’s fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition…period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. BUYER MUST PAY WITHIN 24 HOURS or will lose rights to this item, unpaid item report will be filed and will be relisted. If you don’t intend on buying this…do not commit to buy please. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.   If you have any questions feel free to ask and…thanks for looking.   Country of Manufacture United States Brand Astatic Type Vintage Microphone Model HZ-50
