You are looking at a classic 1970’s era Shure Brothers 565SD (Unisphere 1) dynamic cardioid microphone complete with a Shure vinyl mic pouch and mic clip. This 565SD model was introduced in the early 1960’s as the 565 model and was a widely used mic by many famous musicians (such as Jimi Hendrix while performing live) set at low impedance having a beautiful smooth warm tone. The 565SD is the late model 565 with the practical XLR attachment and on / off switch. This was the last in the series and was made in Mexico before being discontinued completely by the late 1980’s or early 90’s. The 565SD being sold here is the American made model. This 565 has been cleaned and tested…sounds just like the day it was first manufactured. The signal strength on this old mic is very strong. No issues. This mic is an excellent choice for both broadcasting and singing purposes. You will not be disappointed. A very high quality Shure product with excellent uni-directional pattern blocking out most background noise. As you can see in the pictures provided the satin chrome finish is quite nice with just the smallest of wear. The black plastic fitting looks excellent with zero wear. The Shure label that encircles the lower globe shows a bit of wear. Mic has a new inner foam liner under the globe to help with unwanted feedback from wind or strong breathing. No loose parts. One small subtle dent on the chrome mesh screen and very lite tarnish. The 565SD is a real work horse and built like a tank. It should be noted that the XLR pins were cleaned as well. The mic comes with a very nice Shure carrying pouch. A great place to store the mic while not in actual use. Always a nice accessory to have. The vinyl is free of wear and the zipper works perfectly. Mic comes with the newer Shure mic clip that works perfect for this mic. It looks just as nice as the mic and it fits perfectly and will screw onto any desk or floor stand. Provides a wide degree of tilt up and down. An excellent working mic that’s an easy 8 cosmetically on a scale of 1 – 10. Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event.
