Here is a wonderful vintage ribbon microphone from Marelli. This Italian built mic is a RCA 74B Junior Velocity, made under licence in the 50’s/60’s. There is lots about the 74B online and some information about the history of the MC16 on xaudia’s blog. Well worth a look! RCA out sourced their production and British, Italian, Japanese and Australian mics with either RCA badges and or designs can be found.
This mic has been full restored with new ribbon, new silks, internal wiring and short lead that terminates to an XLR plug. The original transformer had seen better days and a replacement with a more suitable contempary output(200 ohms) was sourced from ExtinctAudio. The mic is in good vintage condition and sounds great. It comes in a non-original hard case. S/N 2092.
