Yamaha TX802 19″ Rack Mount Sound Module.
This has been in storage for the last 6 years. Fired it up and was blown away by the pure awesomeness of this unit – beats any plugin.
Before it went into storage I had issues with some slight distortion on the stereo outputs (I & II) however I used it with the seperate outputs into my mixing desk with no issues. (not sure if there is an internal volume setting that is causing this). I have not as yet fully tested the seperate outputs as I no longer have a large mixer but hopefully will have access to test these on 22nd May. I will update the listing with the results.
I have read up on the distortion issue and believe it is not a major problem to fix – but I am not the best at electronics. It would be great for some-one to get this iconic unit back into A1 condition.
The only other issue is the data cartridge is coming up with a cartridge formatting error. This was functioning fine before it went into storage.
This is an incredibly versatile machine with an amzing array of possibilities. Appart from the slight distortion and the cartridge error, it performs as it should. All the buttons function and the display is clear.
No original box or manual – the manual is available online to download for free.
Requires a kettle lead type plug cable – unfortunately I do not have on spare unless one turns up.
