This product data sheet is originally written in English.
Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a quality 2nd generation dynamic microphone manufactured by Electro Voice manufactured during the late 1950’s to late 1960’s. This is the 636 model with a long swiveling upper tube and lower pistol grip that screws onto any desk or floor stand. This mic comes with it’s original (but shortened) cable.I call this the Jack Ruby mic because this was his favorite model microphone when he spoke to his audience in his Dallas strip club night after night as seen in pic # 2. Jack Ruby shot and killed Lee Harvey Oswald of course sealing his legacy in American history. The name has stuck since I learned of his preference for this microphone. This 636 has a great working element and themicrophone is a High Z setting. This would be a great general purpose mic as it was intended. It has a strong, clear signal. The polished chrome housing has held up very well with extremely lite signs of cosmetic wear. Mostly just some small chrome loss on the barrel. Please let the detailed pictures be your guide. A true 8 + on a scale of 1 – 10. It has an impressive luster and there are zero dents or fractures on this old girl. 100% original and in perfect working order which includes the on / off switch and joint mechanism. The 636 was ideal for broadcasting purposes but it can be used for either High or Low Impedance depending on how the mic is wired. Again…this mic is wired for High Z.The threads for both the cable and stand are in perfect condition…no issues. The original4 pin screw on cable is included to operate this mic. The cable is soft, pliable and just 6 inches long. It has a quality Switchcraft female XLR end connector. Simply attach any longer XLR cable of choice and you are in business.MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE…USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.As with all my vintage microphones…I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not…I have a no hassle return policy. Simply return in the same nice condition…period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS ARE WELCOME as well.
